Reinforcement Series - LaborSaver
Vectorply’s LaborSaver fabrics are unique to the industry. These heavy weight (≥35 oz/yd²) non-crimp reinforcements maximize stiffness and strength with each layer. Heavy yield roving (225 to 113 yield) produce advantages unobtainable with standard high yield input:
- Thorough wet out improves fiber/resin ratios
- Drapes and conforms like lighter weight fabrics
- Smoother surface profile…less print through
- Dramatically lowers labor hours through fewer plies
The reinforcements are available in standard and custom architectures, offered in E-glass, carbon, and hybrids.

LaborSaver was design specifically for use in thick laminates where the design is driven by strength and stiffness with fixed cost parameters. Pound for pound LaborSaver improves overall laminate properties by building greater strength with fewer plies, lower resin content, and improved durability.

LaborSaver™ builds stiffness faster. The LaborSaver Laminate maintained equal thickness, increased flexural stiffness and strength, but most importantly reduced the laminate from 12 layers to 6 layers.
Vectorply's heavyweight E-QXM 5608 quadraxial has almost 15 oz/yd² fiber in the 90º direction. This allows for less deflection on the hull bottom of powerboats.
