Vectorply is a private company with headquarters in Phenix City, Alabama. Vectorply makes more than 350 different styles of reinforcement fabrics for an unlimited number of composite applications. Vectorply products are produced in the United States, China and England. These factories give Vectorply the capacity to produce more than 65 million pounds of quality reinforcements annually.
History
Vectorply started operations in 1992 as Tech Textiles USA, a 50/50 joint venture between a North American textile company and a British Company called Tech Textiles Ltd. The British company's interest was purchased in 1995 forming Johnston Industries Composite Reinforcements Inc.
In 2002 the current management group along with an Atlanta based private equity firm purchased the company and changed its name to Vectorply Corporation.
Trey Sawtelle started with the company in July of 1994 and has worked in many different areas of the company, ranging from customer service to finance. Trey was named VP of Sales and subsequently Senior Vice President. Then in 2011 he was promoted to co-President. Trey lived and worked in California from 1996 to 1999 as Vectorply's West Coast Sales Manager. "I really enjoy the day-to-day challenge of our business, there are so many new and emerging markets for composites. One day I might be speaking with Burton Snowboards about a new fabric design for Shaun White and the next day I might be discussing a carbon quadraxial fabric for Northrop Grumman's UAV... very exciting."
Trevor Humphrey, co-President, started with Vectorply in October 1996. Trevor has also worked in many different areas of the company. He has worked in engineering and also held various sales responsibilities over the years. Trevor is currently responsible for operations while also managing several of Vectorply's direct accounts. Trevor says, "I enjoy the process of seeing and understanding our customers product needs and bringing them to life in multiaxial fabric form. Our entire team feels very proud when we help a customer complete a successful fabrication through our engineering design".
Combined, Don Massey CEO, and his co- President's, Trey Sawtelle and Trevor Humphrey have more than 50 years of multiaxial fabric making experience. "Vectorply is a market driven company and our number one focus will always be the customer", says CEO Don Massey.
